The Youth Pledge is a major milestone in the history of Indonesia's independence movement. This pledge as a crystallization of spirit for the goal of ideals of the establishment of the state of Indonesia.
What is meant by "Youth Pledge" is the decision of the Second Youth Congress held two days, 27-28 October 1928 in Batavia (Jakarta). This decision would aspire to be there "homeland Indonesia", "nation Indonesia", and "Indonesian". This decision is also expected to be a principle for every "Indonesian national association" and to be "broadcast in all newspapers and read before meetings of associations".
